ANCIENT FOREST FALLING AT BERRY PATCH!

BERRY PATCH, OREGON - The picture below, taken this past weekend, shows classic old-growth trees being logged on your National Forest with your tax dollars.

The sound of saws at the Berry Patch timber sale 20 miles east of Eugene are the opening shots in this summer's ancient forest wars. Berry Patch is one of the first old-growth timber sale to be logged on the Willamette National Forest in more than three years. Much of the forest being logged predates the US Constitution - some are as old as 400 years.
